Rental Policies and Preparation
-
Acadia SUP has a strict cancellation policy. Any changes to your reservation must be made by 6pm the day before your rental. No refunds are given for changes or cancellations made after 6pm. No exceptions will be made. We will offer you a chance to reschedule or a refund on the day of your reservation, if in our judgement, weather conditions make it unsafe or exceptionally unpleasant to paddle. Please plan accordingly if you think your plans will change or the weather forecast is not going to cooperate with your paddling goals for the day.
You are welcome to arrive a few minutes before your rental time to fill out paperwork, waivers, and get loaded. Full-day and multi-day rentals are available starting at 9am and will be held for you all day regardless of the time you come to get them, and are due back 30 minutes before closing. All rentals are considered late 30 minutes after the end of your rental time. Overdue rentals will be charged an $8/hour late fee. Last-minute rental extensions are often possible, but you must still call to check.

A tough durable stand up paddle board from Glide SUP, a high quality Werner paddle, a PFD, a safety leash, a set of pads/straps to put the boards on your vehicle, a free orientation to proper use of the equipment, and a map with recommended paddling spots.
We do have a 2-3 boards per vehicle limit. In some instances a truck or vehicle with a proper rack may fit up to 4 boards. Please call to discuss your options if you are looking to transport more than 2-3 boards or are worried about your type of vehicle.

You must be at least 18 years old to rent a paddle board. All renters are required to sign a waiver and fill out a float plan with our staff.
For safety and liability reasons, it is generally intended that you will take your rental to one of the local lakes. Reasons for this include but are not limited to: colder water temperatures, large tides, greater exposure to wind or waves, unpredictable fog, and potential boat traffic. Renters wishing to paddle in tidal water should be prepared to have a conversation with our staff about their experience and ability level.
We reserve the right to limit where you may paddle based on our assessment of your ability and daily wind and/or weather conditions. We do not offer refunds on rentals if we determine that where you plan to paddle is not appropriate to your ability level or the days weather conditions. Please keep your expectations flexible and remember that at the end of the day you are ultimately responsible for your own safety.
Note: If after reading the above disclaimer you have any doubts about your ability level or question why we would have such a strict rental policy, it is safe for you to assume that we will likely be asking you to go to the lake.
